About Us
The Lissome is an independent, artist-led cultural initiative and annual journal exploring regenerative design, creative practice and cultural transformation – combining the beauty of an art publication with the depth of a professional resource.
Rooted in the belief that true regeneration begins by learning from the Earth, embracing her wisdom and beauty to restore harmony within ourselves and the living world, The Lissome invites a slower, more connected way of seeing and making. Guided by pleasure activism, our mission is to inspire cultural change through embodied, life-affirming storytelling. By reclaiming clothing culture, artistic craft and publishing as sensual, sense-making practices, we open spaces for belonging and future-making.
At the heart of our work lies our award-nominated annual print magazine, complemented by a podcast, curated exhibitions and events, and The Book of Kin – a growing community of slow and thoughtful designers and makers.
Collaborating with a wide circle of kindred writers, photographers and artists, The Lissome was recognised as a positive example of responsible sustainability communication in the United Nations’ Sustainable Fashion Communication Playbook.
