Issue N°1: A Wakening

Order Magazine

In order to create new ways of living, we need to envision them first – moving beyond dystopian narratives and a state of denial, and becoming creative again.

What could a world look and feel like that is nourishing and regenerative for people and nature alike, and how can we make it happen? What can we learn from Indigenous cultures about our lost connection to nature, and what role does spirituality play? And how will fashion, creativity and culture fit into this new era and help create it?

In our first edition, we explore the Union of Concerned Researchers in Fashion’s trailblazing manifesto, take an eco-spiritual perspective on fashion, delve into the emotive quality of textiles, and discuss the future of fashion education. We take to the streets with Extinction Rebellion, create a waste herbarium based on poetry and awaken colour from plants.

We would like to thank our sponsors, Lovely Day, Quite Quiet and VIU, and our printing partner, Druckhaus Sportflieger, for their vital support of our work and vision.
