Founded in Berlin in 2024, ANN grew from a desire to reconnect with craftsmanship, natural materials and the knowledge passed between generations of makers. Founder Stiina Huhtanen traces that impulse back to her childhood in Finland, surrounded by women who knitted, sewed, wove and quilted, especially her grandmother Annikki, who inspired both the name and spirit of the brand.
ANN works exclusively with undyed, mulesing-free German merino wool sourced from farms in Bavaria and spun in a third-generation family-run mill. Each piece is then hand-knitted by skilled artisan women across Germany. Keeping the entire journey from fibre to finished accessory within the country allows the brand to stay closely connected to both material and maker, while supporting regional production and traditional knitting skills. Designed outside seasonal trends, ANN’s pieces are made to be cared for, repaired and worn for many years.
