SUZ is specialized in the processing and sewing of wheat straw braids. A dying craft. She transforms an antiquated technique, that originated in Italy and Switzerland, into contemporary hats, accessories and home objects. Her designs emphasize the special nature of the material itself. The minimalist vocabulary of graphic shapes translates into captivating designs with a sculptural appearance.
SUZ is a milliner, designer and lecturer based in Berlin. With meticulous attention to detail and a deep understanding of the art of hat making, each piece is made by hand in her workshop in Berlin-Kreuzberg. Most hats are unisex. They are made for people who enjoy diving into the urban world with all its energy but also find beauty in picking apples in the countryside and walking across meadows with friends.
SUZ believes in taking the time and the care to make something unique that will bring happiness to her customers and that they’ll be able to wear for years. For this reason the production progresses slowly and carefully. Every single piece reflects her dedication to the craft and will do the best for its new owner.
