OYUNA / UK & Mongolia
Growing up in Mongolia, Oyuna Tserendorj was surrounded by vast landscapes and a culture shaped by nomadic life. After studying fashion and clothing engineering in Budapest and settling in London, she founded OYUNA to share something of that heritage with the wider world. Cashmere was a natural choice, but her interest lay not in making it more luxurious, but more modern, relevant and connected to where it comes from.
OYUNA works with SFA-certified Mongolian cashmere, made in Mongolia by skilled makers and long-standing manufacturing partners who know the fibre intimately. More recently, Japanese-crafted cotton and hemp have broadened its material world. Natural fibres, small-batch production and pre-orders have guided the practice from the beginning, alongside no-waste knitting, repair and designs made to last. At its heart are the relationships between landscape, material and people – from nomadic herders to makers – and the stories carried within them.
