Rein / Germany & Nepal

REIN founder Neelo grew up visiting the Himalayas, surrounded by exquisite craftsmanship. She later modelled internationally, walked the runways of Chanel and reported on human rights from Berlin. REIN brings these worlds together: a love of the mountains, an appreciation of quality shaped by high fashion, and an understanding of the economic and power structures behind what we wear.

Working with the traditional fibres of nomadic Himalayan communities, REIN uses pashmina and naturally shed yak wool, lab-tested and certified for grade, species and origin, with only fibres below 14 microns making the cut. Pieces are handwoven by small communities across Nepal or made in a Kathmandu partner workshop supporting makers with fair wages, healthcare and education. Transparency is built into every piece: each comes with a provenance card carrying the cooperative’s name, its certifications, the region of production and fibre-grade data, with certification numbers that can be independently verified through REIN’s website.
